Duration of policy
The policy will remain in force for 12 months from date of commencement, or as otherwise shown on your policy schedule.
Right of cancellation
If you are an individual/sole trader (including a partnership in England and Wales) buying a policy which provides cover for you in both a private and business capacity, you have the right to cancel your policy during a period of 14 days either from the day of purchase of the contract or the day on which you receive your policy documentation, whichever is the later. A full explanation of the cancellation rights can be found in the policy documentation.

We are covered by the Financial Ombudsman Service. If you have complained to us and we have been unable to resolve your complaint, you may then be entitled to refer it to this independent body. The Financial Ombudsman Service is available to individuals, certain small businesses, charities and trusts.
Financial Services Compensation Scheme
We are covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS). If we cannot meet our obligations you may be entitled to compensation from the scheme, depending on the type of insurance and circumstances of any claim.

Non Disclosure:
It is your duty to disclose complete and accurate information for underwriting purposes. Failure to disclose all material facts to the Insurer or inaccuracies in your answers on the Statement of Fact completed via our web site www.craftinsurance.co.uk or printed Proposal form for hand written completion could invalidate your cover and also invalidate any claim made. Our mandate allows us to arrange insurances within the Uk and ROI only.
Complaints Procedure
We care for our Clients. If you are unhappy in any way with your insurance policy or the way that it has been arranged, you can in the first instance contact Mr Ian W. Wallace in writing who will be pleased to assist. Your complaint will be formally acknowledged in writing within 48 hours together with our initial response. If your complaint is valid, we will endeavour to agree a mutually acceptable form of redress.
If you are still not satisfied and your complaint relates to the contract of insurance:
You may write to the General Manager of the insurance company concerned. The address can be found in the policy document, or is available from our office.
- If your insurer is a member of the Financial Ombudsman Service and your complaint is regarding a Non Commercial Policy you have the right to ask the Financial Ombudsman Service to review your case. - By making a complaint, you do not prejudice your rights to any legal proceedings. The parties to a contract of insurance covering a risk in the United Kingdom are permitted to choose the law applicable to the contract. English Law will govern your insurance.
Payment Terms and Charges
We are registered under the Consumer Credit Act and our license number is 121504. Our standard terms of business require FULL PAYMENT OF PREMIUM (UK Stirling or € Euro equivalent) before cover commences together with a fully completed proposal form.. PAYMENT CAN BE MADE BY A VALID DEBIT / CREDIT CARD or by cheque PAYABLE TO Ian W. Wallace Ltd. We do not accept cheques from the Republic of Ireland due to the high processing charges. Should instalment facilities be required (Excludes Republic of Ireland), we are able to offer these only via the insurance company who will also make a charge for this purpose. Full details are shown on the relevant direct debit mandate and are confirmed by Aviva Insurance Ltd
Premiums paid directly to us are held in a separate specific Statuory Trust account, whereby should we not be able to meet our obligations they are pretected and are treated as if the payment had been made direct to Aviva Insurance Ltd. Any interest accrued via this account is for the benefit of Ian W Wallace Ltd. No client is entitled to such interest or part therof.
Additional Premiums
All additional premiums are PRO RATA on a full month basis. We do not charge administration fees.
Refund Premiums
(Normally arise as a result of cancellation or reduction in risk.) All return premiums are PRO RATA and calculated on a full month basis. On a return of premium we repay commission on the amount to your Insurer and this will be deducted from the final amount refunded to you. Should a policy be cancelled within 3 months of inception, an administration charge of £15.00 (or € Euro equivalent) will be made and a further amount equal to the commission will be deducted.
Claims
Any incident which could result in a claim, must be notified to us in accordance with the policy wording. All information is passed to the Insurer with minmum delay.The Insurer has the right to contact the Client directly upon receipt of such information or instruct a claims assessor accordingly.
Professional Indemnity insurance is held by us in compliance with the FSA and will be maintained accordingly.
